ROSSA
— VisualxBaliMotion

A collaborative project with BaliMotion that designs a new cinematic identity for two of Rossa's iconic songs. Blending the three-dimensional world with intimate emotion, light, particles, and space that breathes with every note.

01 / Project Overview

Overview

This project was born from a desire to bring out the visual dimension that has long been hidden behind Rossa's voice. Two singles were chosen as the main canvas: Terlalu Cinta and Tegar — each carrying a different yet complementary layer of emotion.

02 / Track Narrative

Terlalu Cinta

Terlalu Cinta is built with a soft, melancholic visual approach. The camera movement is slow, giving the vocals room to remain the emotional center, while the 3D elements act as an atmospheric layer that deepens the sense of intimacy.

The palette leans cool with subtle highlights, supported by volumetric lighting to create depth of space. Transitions are kept smooth so the visual flow feels like it breathes rather than feeling aggressive.

03 / Track Narrative

Tegar Reel

For Tegar, the visuals are directed toward a firmer, higher-contrast rhythm. The spatial composition is more structured, with strong silhouettes to convey a sense of resilience and momentum that keeps moving forward.

A layer of red light and dark accents serves as the main identity of this track. The motion is more precise on key beats, so the song's energy comes through more clearly while staying cinematic.

05 / Creative Process

Behind The Lens

The process began with listening to both songs repeatedly — not only to understand their structure, but to feel the texture of emotion hidden between the pauses and the breaths of the vocals. From there, the moodboard was built organically: cinematography references from 90s European films, analog studio photography, and volumetric light rendering.

Every three-dimensional asset was modeled from scratch using Cinema 4D and rendered with Redshift to achieve a quality of light that feels physically present. The compositing pipeline was done in After Effects with a layer-by-layer approach that allows detailed control down to the pixel level.
